Damascus, Syria — “Hold your head high, you’re a free Syrian.” The refrain of this Arabic song—now widely embraced as the unofficial anthem of a new Syria—echoes throughout Damascus. It blares from market loudspeakers, rings out during celebrations in the central square, and is even sung by the man offering traditional coffee to new arrivals at the airport. For decades, many Syrians lived with lowered gazes under the authoritarian rule of the Al-Assad family. Pakistan to celebrate August 14 as 'Marka-e-Haq' victory day

As a reminder of its victory in the "Marka-e-Haq," or "war of truth," Pakistan will observe Independence Day on August 14. A special parade and victory ceremonies are planned for the federal capital as part of the revamped commemorations, with parallel events in all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Government buildings will be decorated with illuminations, patriotic motifs, and themed floats representing key moments of national struggle, according to officials. In addition, commemorative anthems and speeches have been written, and new narratives highlighting the significance of the "victory" will be included in school and college programs. A new patriotic song is released by ISPR. The new patriotic song "Dil Se Pakistan" has been released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in celebration of Independence Day. The anthem salutes the tenacity of the Pakistani people and armed forces as well as the sacrifices made by the martyrs. According to the military’s media wing, Dil Se Pakistan serves as a heartfelt ode to the nation’s unwavering resolve in the “war of truth” and reflects a collective commitment to sovereignty, security, and national pride.

The song emphasizes the role of the armed forces in defending the homeland and preserving the ideals on which the country was founded, accompanied by moving visuals and empathetic lyrics. It also underscores the broader themes of unity, stability, and national progress, resonating with citizens across the country.

An official from the ISPR stated, "The spirit of Dil Se Pakistan is aligned with the theme of this year's Independence Day — a celebration not just of freedom, but of national character and commitment."
