TikTok has removed 25m Pakistani videos in beginning of 2025

 Platform removed nearly 211 million videos worldwide due to community guidelines violations: report In Pakistan during the first quarter of 2025, TikTok removed nearly 25 million videos, according to its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which covers activity from January to March. The report says that 24,954,128 videos were taken down in Pakistan because they broke the platform's rules for the community. 95.8% of flagged videos were removed within 24 hours of being posted, maintaining an exceptionally high proactive removal rate of 99.4% in the nation. During the same time, TikTok removed approximately 211 million videos worldwide, or 0.9% of all content uploaded to the platform. The proactive removal rate was 99.0%, and 94.3% of the flagged content was removed within 24 hours of being posted.   Thirteen arrested in Balochistan province for alleged involvement in the killing of a couple ordered by a tribal leader. Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistani authorities have arrested at least 13 individuals, including a tribal leader, in connection with the killing of a couple in the southwestern province of Balochistan.  The arrests came in response to widespread outrage after a social media video of the murders went viral. Many people referred to it as yet another instance of "honor killing," a phenomenon that has been reported throughout South Asia. At least 10 dead, 9 injured as five-storey building collapses in Karachi’s Lyari

 At least 10 people died and nine were injured after a five-storey building collapsed in Karachi’s Lyari area on Friday, according to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute Of Trauma (SMBBIT).  Dawn.com was shown data from the Civil Hospital Karachi institute that stated that nine bodies were brought to the hospital, and one person died while being treated. Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed also confirmed the same number of deaths.  SMBBIT Executive Director Dr Sabir Memon told Dawn.com that among the injured people, six were discharged after being provided treatment. Today’s incident comes days after a portion of a building collapsed in the city’s Kharadar area.  However, no casualties or injuries were reported.  The Public Account Committee of the Sindh Assembly had directed the provincial government in December to take urgent steps to evacuate over 570 buildings declared “dangerous” by authorities across Karachi.  Rescue efforts were underway at the...
